Abstract: “Birds-of-a-Feather” (BOF) sessions are moderated, open discussions on technology-related topics proposed by BEA2013 attendees. A topic may be related to BEA2013 content, or any other technology topic that would be of interest to conference attendees. BOF sessions are not formal presentations with slides or software demonstrations. Instead, the format is casual and open. The BOF sessions are a great opportunity to meet with other attendees that have common interests and exchange ideas. You do not have to be a subject matter expert in order to host a session, although you need to have a genuine interest in the topic. There will be a sign-up sheet near the registration desk if you wish to propose a BOF session.

Newspapers are now incorporating broadcast journalism and doing news packages for their web sites. Digital is replacing film. Are we now media generalists instead of media specialists?

Senior Media Thesis Project: Making your student competitive (#182212)

Rationale:
There is much discussion about filmmaking techniques but I believe it would be very helpful to see a panel (or a solo workshop if other panelists not available) on an approach leading to successful employment. In my class I invite a headhunter and we conduct mock interviews, we look at other senior thesis projects, we have a session on budgeting, and a session on personalities in Hollywood who are on the move. I will also show samples of high quality student produced work if this is a workshop.
