The Overcoat

The Overcoat

I had the pleasure last year of being asked to produce a radio drama for WONB-FM as the conclusion of an Acting for the Camera workshop hosted by the Department of Theatre Arts and taught by Malcolm Raeburn Read from the University of Salford’s School of Arts and Media. All of the acting and editing was student-led. I was asked to help the students with technical components of the performance.

The overall recording session was incredible as the students in the Department of Theatre Arts and my Multimedia Journalism student were able to work together during this short period of time to create this masterful work. Our production student showed points of creativity also the way to produce the various effect during the course of the performance.

I believe the most satisfying part of the whole experience was the daily reviews of how the editing was going and working with the students to solve some of the post-production problems (mainly getting the correct music for the era of the radio drama and getting the show to fit the radio broadcast window of thirty minutes).

The audio from the show is below.
