Facebook launching new real-time homepage

Facebook launching new real-time homepage

Facebook seems to be following the example set by other sites (like Twitter) to give instant feedback to their users. The news-feed that provides information to the user about their friends will auto-refresh on a regular basis. A series of filters will also be connected to the news feed as a a way of limiting information on the news-feed. The status updater will be replaced by a “publisher” that will allow the user to have more control regarding how the information is placed on the site (as a status update, publishing pictures, etc.). In addition, Facebook will be refining some of the pages with a larger fan/friend base, like CNN, Leo Laporte and U2. Those pages will be similar to the traditional profile pages already on Facebook.
